Painted Palms
Not writing much about music ever, but felt compelled to share new music from SFs Painted Palms. I checked up on Butterfly Bones, a band that I enjoyed around SF, and found out that they have evolved into Painted Palms. Looks like they recently got some love from Kevin Barnes and just released a new EP out on Polyvinyl records. Their song "Click", which I dig a ton, is streaming at consequence of sound. Side note, if you ever visted me when I lived in SF, the EP album cover is a photo of my old back yard. It's a crazy small world. –Tim
Craig Rodgers: Caverns
Craig Rodgers has a solo BFA printmaking exhibition this wednesday, April 20th at CCA college avenue galleries, Oakland – Which looks pretty cool based on this printed postcard that I found at Oaklands', Pepples Donuts.
Why?
A short clip of Why? performing January Twenty Something at the New Parish in Oakland - 3/5/13. On a technical note, I needed a digital camera for everyday stuff and ended up with a fujifilm x-f1 point and shoot. So far I am happy with my purchase. I like the images that it makes, and am also pretty impressed that it can take video in such lowlight conditions. —Tim
Zine Review: Sam Milianta
I saw online that Sam Milianta was sending out zines to whomever wanted one, so I raised my hand, and was sent two: Alone with Everyone, and One Day it'll All Make Sense (Or Maybe Not) Conclusion: Sam rules. Get your hands on one.

Early on, we found that exploring nature was a common thread in our photography. We discussed our need to get outside and take photos, and we decided to make a publication about it.
We knew that we wanted to publish a collaborative book featuring photographers that we both respected and that shared this common theme. We worked on the idea of the “need” to get outdoors and found a definition that we felt summed up this idea; “PANACEA” which is defined as “a solution or remedy for all difficulties or diseases.” The ring to it was nice, but the definition really hit home for us, as it summed up the feeling that we both had: Exploring nature as a cure.

Brad Westcott gets out and makes great photos, not much more to say. Very happy that he has a photo in PANACEA.
